# 5 Tips to Make Networking Easier

**1. Walk solo for a while.**

Exploring with colleagues is comfortable, but give yourself ten minutes to follow your own curiosity. Stop where something catches your eye, linger when a conversation interests you and introduce yourself to whoever happens to be there.

**2. Introduce people.**

Listen for connections you can make. “*You should meet…*” may be one of the most valuable things you say all day. Connect someone to a person who shares their interest, understands their challenge, or has experience that could help.

**3. Give people somewhere to go next.**

When someone tells you what they’re working on, think about who or what at the show could help them, and point them there. A useful introduction, resource or “Y*ou should go see this*” makes the conversation valuable long after you part ways.

**4. Savor the conversations that click.**

You don’t need to meet everyone in the room. Set a goal before you go to meet a specific number of new people. Then give yourself a high five when you do.

The conversations you remember tomorrow are often the beginning of relationships you’ll value for years.

5\. When it’s time to move on, keep it easy:

*“I’m so glad we met. Enjoy the show, and I hope we connect again soon.”*
